Youth Basketball Registration |
|
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department will be
sponsoring a Youth Basketball Program for ages 6-15
(as of August 31, 2009). Registration will begin, for
Carrboro residents, Tuesday, September 1st (8:30am)
at the Carrboro Century Center, 100 N. Greensboro St.
Non-Carrboro residents will register beginning Wednesday,
September 2nd (8:30am) at the Carrboro Century Center.
All other days of registration will occur during office
hours Monday - Friday 8:30-5pm at the Recreation office,
Carrboro Century Center, 100 N. Greensboro St. Carrboro.
The fee is $55 for Orange County residents and $92 for
non-Orange County residents. Registration forms must
be signed by a parent/guardian and are accepted on a
first come first serve basis. For more information,

Youth Basketball Coaching |
|
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department is currently
accepting volunteer coach's applications for the 2009
- 2010 Youth Basketball Program. Coaches must exhibit
the ability to organize practices and communicate effectively
with players, parents, and Recreation Department staff.
They must also exhibit the ability to teach proper playing
skills and fundamentals, proper sportsmanship, and provide
an enjoyable atmosphere at practices and games. Initial
deadline for all applications is Friday, August 14th.

sponsoring a Fall Baseball Program for participants
6-12 years old as of August 31, 2009. Registration will
begin on Tuesday, May 5th at the Recreation Department,
100 N. Greensboro St. Carrboro. Office hours are Monday
through Friday 8:30am-5pm. The fee is $52 for Orange
County residents, $91 for out of county residents. Registration
forms must be signed by a parent/guardian and is accepted
on a first come first serve basis. For more information,

C.L.A.S.S. Soccer Registration |
|
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Carrboro Recreation & Parks Department is sponsoring
C.L.A.S.S. (Children Learning Athletic Sports Skills)
soccer for kids and their parents. The program is designed
for children 4 to 6 years old as of the start of the
class. The goal of the program is to introduce the fundamentals
of soccer to the participant and parent. The instructor
guides both the child and parent in understanding the
skills of passing, dribbling, trapping and shooting.
Parent and child will be encouraged to practice the
skills learned at home. Parent participation is a major
part of this program. The program will be held on Saturday's
(9:00am-10:00am) from September 12th to October 17th.
The cost is $47/child. Pre-registration is required
and will begin Tuesday, May 5th at the Carrboro Recreation
& Parks Department, 100 N. Greensboro St. Space

Volleyball Class Registration |
|
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department will
be sponsoring volleyball classes for youth ages 10-13.
These classes are designed to introduce and work on
the fundamentals of volleyball. Instructors guide the
participant in understanding the skills of bumping,
setting, spiking, and blocking. Registration begins
Tuesday, May 5th at the Carrboro Century Center, 100
N. Greensboro St., in Carrboro. Fee is $47 per player
and space is limited. The class will take place on Sunday's
September 13th - October 18th from 1pm-2:15pm or 2:30pm-3:45pm.
